A Multilayer Circularly Polarized Ka-Band Phased Array Module using Sequential Rotation

A Multilayer Circularly Polarized Ka-Band Phased Array Module using Sequential Rotation

Collaboration between Instituto de Telecomunicações of Aveiro, University of Aveiro and Sinuta to develop a new circularly polarized 4×4 antenna array with beamforming capabilities. By using the sequential rotation technique, it was possible to achieve wide scan angles, both LHCP/RHCP, while maintaining the axial ratio (AR) below 3 dB between 27.5-30 GHz, with a maximum gain of 14 dBi.
